# Privacy Policy Last updated: March 2026 ## Open-Source Educational Project PromptURLs is an open-source project built for educational and practice purposes. It demonstrates modern web development patterns including drag-and-drop interfaces, local storage persistence, responsive design, and client-side URL generation. This project is not affiliated with any of the LLM providers listed. ### 1 Information We Collect PromptURLs does **not** collect or store identifying personal data such as your name or email. Technical data, such as your IP address, is processed temporarily by our hosting providers for standard security, analytics, and performance monitoring. Your prompt history, layout preferences, and provider settings are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage on your own device. When you choose to share a prompt via a short link, only the prompt text itself is stored in our secure database (see Section 5). ### 2 How Your Data Is Used Your prompts are used solely to generate URL-encoded links for the LLM platforms you select. When you click "Share," a short link is created by storing the prompt text in a secure database and generating a unique short ID. ?puv=abc123 Anyone with the short link can view the prompt. No personal information is attached to shared prompts — they are completely anonymous. ### 3 Third-Party Services When you click "Open" on a generated link, you are redirected to the respective LLM platform (e.g., Google, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, HuggingChat, Le Chat). Those platforms have their own privacy policies and terms of service that govern your interactions with them. PromptURLs uses **Supabase** as a secure database provider to store shared prompt text and generate short links. Only the prompt text and anonymous usage counters are stored — no personal data, IP addresses, or cookies. See [Supabase's Privacy Policy](https://supabase.com/privacy). PromptURLs loads favicon images from the app for display purposes only. No user data is shared with any external favicon service. PromptURLs uses the Google Sans Flex font, self-hosted from our own servers. No connection to Google is made for fonts; the font files are served locally with the app. ### 4 Local Storage We use your browser's localStorage to persist preferences: - Card order & layout preference - Enabled/disabled LLM providers - Dark mode setting - Prompt history (up to 50 entries) - Privacy policy acceptance status **Shared computers:** Since data is stored on the device rather than in an account, anyone else using this browser can see your Prompt History. You can clear this data at any time via History panel. ### 5 Shared Prompts When you share a prompt via the "Share" button, the following data is stored in our secure database: - The prompt text you entered - A unique short link ID - Creation timestamp - Anonymous usage counters (open count, share count) **Important:** We do **not** store your IP address, identity, or browser fingerprint alongside shared prompts in our database. Do not include sensitive personal information in prompts you choose to share. ### 6 Cookies & Analytics We use **Vercel Analytics** and **Google Analytics 4** to understand how visitors use PromptURLs. Analytics include anonymized data such as page views, button clicks, and general site interactions. IP addresses are temporarily processed by our hosting provider and analytics services to gather broad geographical trends and security metrics, but they are not linked to your stored prompts. We do not track individual users across the web or store personally identifiable information through analytics. No cross-site tracking is performed. ### 7 Data Security Local data remains on your device. Shared prompt data is stored in a secure, encrypted database hosted by Supabase with Row Level Security (RLS) policies. Prompt inputs are sanitized client-side to prevent XSS and injection attacks. We recommend keeping your browser up to date. ### 8 Children's Privacy PromptURLs is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from minors. ### 9 Open Source & Disclaimer This software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
